The Garden of Eden

In the Garden of Eden,

You were dangled before my eyes,

Too good to be true,

I knew to not go near you,

I did what I was told,

I only watched you from a distance,

In order to not give into temptation,

But after an eternity of trusting the divine,

I said, ‘fuck it,

Let God deliver me to evil’,

But now I see,

As punishment,

God is now telling me that we are no longer meant to be,

In retaliation,

I shall leave the Garden of Eden,

Like the snake,

I will hiss and spit,

The darling young Eve,

Transforms into the daring and powerful Lilith,

Keep dangling this in front of me, God,

Keep writing my story like this,

Keep giving me half the dream,

And one day you will see,

Soon you will have to kneel to me.
